REYTAN VODKA is a tribute to Tadeusz Reytan, one of the most important defenders of Polish freedom and independence. His courage and determination inspired us to create a brand that honours and carries on his values.
THE LIFE OF A PATRIOT
Tadeusz Reytan, born on 20 August 1742 in Hruszówka, grew up in a time of great political unrest. As a member of the Polish nobility, he was passionately committed to the defence of Polish sovereignty and the freedom of his people.
SYMBOL OF RESISTANCE
On 21 April 1773, Reytan courageously stood up in the Sejm against the first partition of Poland by Russia, Prussia and Austria. His resolute resistance – symbolised by his extraordinary action of lying down on the floor of the parliament chamber to prevent the vote – made him a symbol of the fight for national independence.
